Ransomville Speedway Karting Profile: Anthony Pollow

The go kart drivers at the Little R put on some of the best racing in the area. These kids are aggressive drivers on the track but best friends in the pits. If you watched the Junior 3 division last season, you would understand. 13 year old Anthony Pollow, from the Town of Niagara, fought his way through the track in 2019, securing four feature wins in a row and finishing second in the points standings, being very close to winning the championship. For the 2020 racing season, he hopes to secure that championship in the Junior 3 division once again. Anthony got into racing when one of his friends was competing at the Little R and his dad (Steve) says “that’s all it took”. Anthony was only 6 years when his dad asked him if he wanted to give go kart racing a try. He was ecstatic and only two weeks later, he made his debut and was hooked. Anthony really enjoys racing and hanging out with the friends he has made at the track. Steve Pollow likes that Jenn Martin and the rest of the Ransomville Speedway go kart crew puts a lot of time into the program to give the parents and kids “the safest race track and experience possible.” Anthony says that the competition is “tough” while Steve says, “There are some great teams that make every week very competitive. It’s really close racing week to week.” Steve also adds that maintaining the kart every week is “definitely a full time job”. There is a lot of detailed cleaning and fixing of broken parts every week. Steve says that “there is an awful lot of time that goes into go kart racing if you want to be successful and win. When I look back, I really had no idea what we were about to get into with the amount of time and money it takes to be competitive; but, the experience and time spent with each other are memories that will last a lifetime.” The father-son duo is ready to begin their 2020 season and they couldn’t do it without their sponsors. The Pollow’s would like to thank R.B. U’Ren Equipment inc., Acome Construction, Mamon, Electric, Ikes Powder Coating, Bob Best Snap-on, International Chimney, Niagara Automotive, Nonnie, Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Richelle for their generous support for the 2020 go kart racing season. Other than his sponsors, Anthony would like to thank his dad, his mom, Michelle, Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Richelle, Nonnie, and his whole family for their unconditional support since the beginning.
