Ransomville Speedway Karting Profile: Trent Smith

Trent Smith is a 16 year old Lockport native who shares a passion that everyone else at the Little R shares: go kart racing. In 2019, Smith got the feature win in the Vega Money Series and many top 3 finishes at numerous area tracks. He plans to continue his growth in 2020 at the Little R, competing in the Senior Lites Division. Smith’s goals are to “finish top 3 in every race” with the intent to win the Senior Lites Division championship. After growing up at the track, watching his father race Street Stocks, he fell in love with the environment and decided to give it a try. Smith now says that the Ransomville Speedway go kart program is “a stepping stone” to get onto the big track. Although he spends more than twenty hours in the shop a week, he still believes that the competition is “solid and clean” with the “drivers respecting other drivers”. Trent Smith can’t wait to get back on the track for the 2020 racing season and is prepared to hit his marks to achieve his goals. Smith wouldn’t be able to do this without his sponsors; therefore, he would like to thank Don Sullivan and Schaeffer Lubricants, TiniTimeLLC, Gregory Regan from State Farm, Nutrien, Weaver Meadows, Roadies Sports Bar and Grill, Sue’s Grooming, Daddio's Pizza, and Joe Basil Chevrolet for their generous support and partnership for the 2020 racing season. Other than his sponsors he would like to thank his mom, dad, brother, sister, and Uncle Dave for their unconditional encouragement and assistance throughout his racing career thus far.
