Blake Chaffee Memorial and Empire Street Stock Series Coming This Friday Night

RANSOMVILLE, NY (July 17, 2023) This coming Friday night, JetPort Restaurant and Lounge along with Chris’s Appliance Repair will present the inaugural Blake Chaffee Memorial for the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks. The KiPo Motors Street Stocks will also be featured as the Empire Street Stock Series will make their inaugural visit to the Big R. The Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Hy-Tech Concrete Sportsman, and Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman will round out the racing card. The racing program will also be highlighted by Kids Rides.

Blake Chaffee Memorial is in memory and honor of Blake Chaffee, who passed away this past January at just 22 years old. Blake is the brother of Pit Stewart Gage Chaffee. Blake was not only a son, brother, and grandson, but he was a best friend to many. Blake was a “jack of all trades” kind of guy that would do anything for anyone that asked him for help or advice. Blake was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield, graduating in 2018. The Chaffee family and friends put together a lap sponsorship program for the race, and other contingency awards as well, including a custom trophy made by Sean Kuhaneck, and a big check from the Wilson Print Shop. The race will be one of the highest payouts for the division at any track in the region, with $1000 going to the winner.

Empire Street Stock Series. Shane Wolf won the Series’ first event at the Genesee Speedway back in May and is the current points leader. The Series will also visit the Woodhull Raceway in August, and Land of Legends Raceway in September. Their event scheduled for June at Freedom Motorsports Park was rained out.

The JetPort Restaurant & Lounge is operated by the Richner family, which has been involved in racing at the “Big R” for decades. The family’s current racing operation spans multiple generations with Kyle racing in the Hy-Tech Concrete DIRTcar Sportsman, and Father Rick being a longtime veteran 358 Modified racer. The JetPort Restaurant serves delicious, home-cooked food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Located at 7100 Porter Road in Niagara Falls, dine-in and take-out options are available. The JetPort can be reached by phone at (716) 297-9778 and on Facebook by searching Jetport Restaurant.

Chris’s Appliance Repair is a full-service appliance repair shop based in Youngstown, NY. From refrigerators, freezers, toasters, microwaves, and more, Chris can fix it all. To contact Chris, call (716) 523-5911.

Pit Gates on Friday will open at 5pm, grandstands open at 6pm, and racing will get underway at 7:15pm. For those unable to attend in person, catch the action live on Dirt Track Digest TV.
