Wet Weather Cancels Wednesday and Thursday Practice; Season Opens Friday Night

RANSOMVILLE, NY (May 2, 2023) Inclement weather continues to plague Ransomville Speedway as speedway management made the decision to cancel the upcoming practice sessions scheduled for Wednesday May 3 for the stock car program and Thursday May 4 for the Little R Go-Kart Program.

“With the grounds still very saturated from all the Spring rain, the decision was made to cancel the two practice sessions and focus our attention to Friday night’s season opener,” speedway management said. The 65th Season Opener for the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Hy-Tech Concrete Sportsman, KiPo Motors Street Stocks, Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman, and the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks will take place at 7:15pm.

The Hy-Tech Concrete Sportsman will be racing a 20-lap feature on Opening Night in honor and memory of Kyle Inman, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Kyle raced at the Big R numerous times in both the Sportsman and 358 Modified divisions.

Pit gates will open Friday at 5:00pm, with grandstands opening at 6:00pm. Racing will begin at 7:15pm. General admission is $18 for adults, and $15 for seniors (60+ and youth). Pit admission is $35 for members and $40 for non-members.

The Little R Go-Kart program will be having the Go-Kart Driving School on Sunday, May 7 plus having their test and tune session. The Kart Driving School is open to all new go kart participants and parents. Gates will open Sunday morning at 8:00am, with the Driving School taking place from 9:30am-12:30pm. Beginning at 1:00pm, there will be a practice session for all karts and pre-tech will also take place. All teams are encouraged to bring their one-way radios and transponders.
