Ransomville Speedway
Lindberg, McPherson, Pangrazio, Hornquist, and Newton Win at Ransomville
RANSOMVILLE, NY (May 8, 2026) Gary Lindberg from Ridgeway, Ontario won the Krown Undercoating Modified feature on SANY New York night at Ransomville Speedway. Mr. DIRT Sportsman titlist Cody McPherson from St. Catharines, Ontario won his second Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman feature of the season. Josh Pangrazio from Oakfield, NY picked up the win in the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks. Matt Hornquist from Eden, NY won the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stock feature. Lucas Newton from Oakfield, NY won the J&D Tires and Service Novice Sportsman event.
Austin Susice and John Smith brought the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds to the green flag for their 30-lap feature, with Susice in the lead ahead of Andrew Smith and Brad Rouse. Gary Lindberg would race his way to fourth ahead of John Smith and Mat Williamson. Erick Rudolph would enter the top five on lap six and then would move into third on lap 11 after getting around Andrew Smith. Lindberg would work his way to second and would reel in race leader Austin Susice, just as Erick Rudolph and Mat Williamson battled for third place. Jesse Cotriss slowed on the back straightaway to bring out the Lenco Supply caution flag. The restart would see Erick Rudolph in second and Chad Brachmann racing his way to third after passing both Austin Susice and Mat Williamson. Lindberg would hold off Rudolph, Brachmann, Williamson, and Rouse to score the win. Lindberg is now 23rd on the 358 Modified all-time wins list, tying Sandy MacPherson, Jim Begolo, Robbie Krull, Scott Kerwin, and Stewart Friesen.
Curtis Friesen and Kyle Teeter were on the front row for Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman feature, and the red flag would immediately come out as Doug Walsh Jr flipped in turn one. Walsh was able to climb out of his car under his own power. The restart would see Friesen out front as Jordan Moden raced his way to second place. Cody McPherson would race in third ahead of Nigel Pendykoski and Derek Wagner. McPherson would battle with Moden and would take over second on lap eight. The Lenco Supply caution would come out on lap ten for Kyle Teeter, who shredded a left rear Hoosier tire. The restart would see Friesen and McPherson on the front row, with McPherson taking over the lead, with Brett Senek passing Wagner to take over third place. Tyler Foster would bring out the Lenco Supply caution on lap 14. The ensuing restart would see McPherson take off in the lead ahead of Friesen, Senek, Wagner, and Pendykoski. McPherson would go on to score the win, his second of the season. Friesen crossed the line in second but was disqualified for being too light at the scales post-race.
Defending track champion Josh Pangrazio and 2024 track titlist Mike Welch led the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks to the green with Pangrazio in the lead ahead of Welch, John Zimmerman, Byron Dewitt, and Dave Stolzenberg Jr. Dewitt would battle for third and then on lap three, would take over second from Welch. Brandon Sherwood would then take over third place from Welch on lap eight, as Pangrazio and Dewitt pulled away from the field. The Lenco Supply caution would come out on lap 18 as Chase Kish came to a stop near the pit entrance. The restart would see the top three all grouped together, but it was Pangrazio going on to score the feature win.
Matt Hornquist and qualifying winner Jeffrey Wynes brought the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks to the green flag for their 15-lap main event, with Hornquist taking the lead with dad Ben racing into second place. Ryan Plante would challenge Ben Hornquist for second, with “Mr. Peanut” moving into the runner up position on lap five. The first Lenco Supply caution of the event came out as Tyler Wick came to a stop on the front straightaway. The lap seven restart would see Matt Hornquist back into the lead, with Plante, and Ben Hornquist racing in the top three. Matt Hornquist would drive on to score the feature win.
Cole Susice and Lucas Newton brought the J&D Tires and Service Novice Sportsman to the green flag with Newton taking off into the lead with Russell Friesen racing his way to second with Austin Seburn in third place. Seburn took over second at the end of lap one. Christian Soladay would battle with Chris Miller for fourth place early on, as the top three pulled away from the field. Friesen would regain second on lap five, but Seburn would regain the spot just one lap later. The caution would come out as Chris Miller, Cole Susice, and Robert Henning all spun in turn one. On the lap six restart, Newton would continue to show the way. The caution would immediately come back out as Seburn and Friesen got together in turn one. Soladay would work his way to second place, but it was Newton pulling away to score the feature win.
Next Friday night, May 15, Chestnut Road Health & Fitness along with Bud’s Apple Pie will present a full card of racing featuring the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman, KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks, Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, and the J&D Tires and Service Novice Sportsman.
