    Williamson, McPherson, Dewitt, Susice, and Soladay Score Opening Night Wins at Ransomville

    RANSOMVILLE, NY (May 1, 2026) Mat Williamson from St. Catharines, Ontario won the Krown Undercoating 358 Modified main event to kick off Ransomville Speedway’s 69th season of racing on Friday night, as Buffalo Barbeque Quest and Lenco Supplies presented the racing action. Mr. DIRT Sportsman titlist Cody McPherson from St. Catharines, Ontario won the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman feature. Byron Dewitt III from Pavilion, NY won the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stock feature. Cole Susice from Ransomville, NY won the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks feature. Christian Soladay from Youngstown, NY won the J&D Tires and Service Novice Sportsman feature. Drums of VP Race Fuels went to Jesse Cotriss and Martin Polhill. VP Fuel jugs went to Mike Welch, Cody Griffin, and Lucas Newton.

    Gary Lindberg and James Sweeting brought the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds to the green flag for their 30-lap feature, with Lindberg taking the lead, with Mat Williamson and Erick Rudolph quickly getting into the top three. Williamson would pass Lindberg to move into the lead on lap two, with Rudolph battling with Lindberg for second. The caution would come out on lap eight as Phil Vigneri III came to a stop on the front straightaway. Ryan Susice would work his way to third place as he battled with Chad Brachmann. After an early race caution, Erick Rudolph would work his way back to fifth place. Rudolph would pass Susice on lap 16 to take over fourth place as he would set his sights on third place running Chad Brachmann. Williamson would pull away over the final half of the race to earn the victory.

    Jordan Moden and Derek Wagner were on the front row for Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman feature, with Moden in the lead ahead of Wagner, Cody McPherson, Cam Tuttle, and Jake Bansmer. Wagner would quickly take the lead at the end of the opening lap. Cam Tuttle would quickly reel in Wagner for the lead. The Lenco Supply caution would come out on lap eight as polesitter Moden spun in turn four, with Brett Senek having nowhere to go. Senek was able to continue on racing, while Moden needed the assistance of the tow truck. On the restart, McPherson would take over second with Bansmer being able to pass Tuttle for third place. When the white flag was flown. McPherson would take over the lead while in lap traffic. Wagner would give one ditch effort going into turn three, but it was McPherson holding on to score the feature win.

    Joey Zimmerman and Dave Stolzenberg Jr led the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks to the green with Stolzenberg into the lead. The caution would come out on lap one as Mike Fellows drifted high and hit the turn four wall. On the restart, Stolzenberg and Brandon Sherwood would lead the field back to the green, as Mike Welch and Byron Dewitt raced in third and fourth place. Sherwood would take over the lead, with Dewitt being able to move into the runner up spot. The caution would come out on lap five as Mike Welch slowed on the top side of turn three. The restart would see Dewitt challenge Sherwood for the lead, as Josh Pangrazio raced his way into third place. Pangrazio would go three wide with Dewitt and Sherwood to take the lead away on lap seven. Dewitt would use the inside groove to take the lead away on lap eight, ahead of Pangrazio and Sherwood. Dewitt would continue to show the way in the late going, as Pangrazio pressured him for the lead. Dewitt would hold off Pangrazio to score the feature win.

    Cody Griffin and Ben Hornquist brought the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks to the green flag for their 15-lap main event, with Griffin in the lead, as Cole Susice worked his way into the top spot on lap two. Brad Whiteside would take over second place as the battle was on with Griffin, Jeffrey Wynes, and Ryan Plante. Susice would go on to earn the win.

    Jacob Flynn and Austin Seburn brought the J&D Tires and Service Novice Sportsman to the green flag with third place starting Christian Soladay taking over the lead ahead of Lucas Newton, and AJ Mitchell. Once out front, Soliday had open racetrack as he pulled away from the field. Lucas Newton would race in second and would close in on the leader when they entered lap traffic. Soladay would hold off Newton over the final laps to earn his first career Novice Sportsman victory.

    Next Friday night, May 8, SANY New York will present a full card of racing featuring the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman, KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks, Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, and the J&D Tires and Service Novice Sportsman.
