Open Practice Kicks Off Ransomville's 69th Season
RANSOMVILLE, NY (April 30, 2026) Ransomville Speedway hosted an open practice session on Thursday night to kick off the 2026 season. Teams from multiple divisions filled the pit area, eager to shake down their cars after a long offseason. On track, conditions proved to be nearly ideal, allowing drivers to turn fast, consistent laps throughout the evening.
Several competitors praised the racing surface, noting the hard work put in by the track crew during the offseason. “The track was smooth, tacky, and fast — honestly one of the best tracks that I’ve ran at in a long time,” one driver commented following their session. “You could really lean on it and feel comfortable pushing the car.”
Fans in attendance were treated to plenty of on-track action as cars cycled through multiple rounds of practice in preparations for the 2026 season opener on Friday, May 1.
This Friday night, May 1 will be the 69th Season Opener presented by Buffalo Barbeque Quest and Lenco Supplies featuring the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman, KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks, Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, and the J&D Tires Novice Sportsman. Pit gates will open at 5pm, grandstands open at 6pm, and racing will get underway at 7:15pm.
