Justin Peck Rolls to High Limit Victory at Ransomville; Josh Pangrazio Wins Empire Street Stock Series Event
RANSOMVILLE, NY (May 16, 2025)… Justin Peck from Monrovia, Indiana won the A-Main for the Kubota High Limit Sprint Car Series at the Ransomville Speedway Friday night. Josh Pangrazio from Oakfield, NY picked up the victory in the Empire Street Stock Series feature event for his third Ransomville victory of the 2025 season. Bateman Construction Corp presented the highly anticipated event.
“Sunshine” Tyler Courtney and Rico Abreu led the Kubota High Limit to the green flag for their 30-lap A-Main, with “Sunshine” Courtney in the lead ahead of Abreu, Justin Peck, Aaron Reutzel and Danny Varin. Abreu would look to the inside of Courtney for the lead on lap eight, but Courtney held off Rico. The leaders would encounter lap traffic on lap 10, with third place running Justin Peck catching Abreu for second place. Peck would pass Abreu on lap 13 to take over second and then would go after Courtney for the lead. Peck would use the inside of the racetrack to pass Courtney for the lead on lap 15, and Abreu would close in on Courtney for second place. Davie Franek would slow on the top side of turn one to bring out the race’s first caution on lap 21. The restart would see Aaron Reutzel pass both Abreu and Courtney to move into the second position. Peck would go on to collect the win. Tyler Courtney would pass Reutzel coming off turn four on the last lap to finish second. Rico Abreu would finish in fourth and Central New York veteran Danny Varin completed the top five.
Josh Pangrazio and John Zimmerman brought the Butler Excavating and Concrete Empire Street Stock Series powered by Neff Landscape LLC to the green flag for their 30-lap event with Pangrazio in the lead. Justin Neff spun in turn three to bring out the race’s first caution on lap three. Damian Long would take second away from Zimmerman on lap five. Zimmerman would regain the lead on lap nine. The caution flag was flying on lap 10 as Anthony Muscato and Butch Zimmerman made contact, with Muscato getting turned into the turn one wall. Following the restart, John Zimmerman would take the lead away from Pangrazio, with Mike Welch, Brandon Sherwood, and Luke Boom in the top five. The top four would battle for the lead as they pulled away from the field over the midway part of the race. The caution would come out on lap 25 as Dennis Cummings had an engine let go while running in sixth. Pangrazio would regain the lead on the restart and would go on to score his third Ransomville win of the season and found his way to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane for winning the first Empire Street Stock Series event of the season. The Bud’s Apple Pie Hard Charger went to Adam Leubner, while Justin Neff was the recipient of the Big Mike’s Auto Repair Hard Luck Award.
