    Ransomville Speedway Profile: Ryan Plante

Ryan Plante, driver of the #93, is a consistent competitor in the Mini Stock division and hopes to come back stronger for another season. After finishing fourth in points, with 7 top five finishes in 2019, he is looking forward to another great year at the Big R. The 2019 Best Appearing Mini Stock is hard to miss on the track with the blue and yellow combination. He said it was “an honor” and “pretty cool” to win that award last season. Plante, from Cheektowaga, plans to finish every Mini Stock race for the 2020 season. He also strives to “get a win and finish top 3 in points” to add another eagle trophy to his collection! Plante would like to run as many of Ransomville Speedway and Freedom Motorsports Park Mini Series races as he possibly can. For someone starting their racing career, Plante believes it is very important to “be patient and pay attention to detail”. Although he is a top competitor, Plante enjoys racing because he gets to have a good time with his dad. He is a very family oriented and persistent racer, and it is a pleasure to have him weekly at Ransomville Speedway. Plante would like to thank Firth Jewelers, STA Ridge Road, Buffalo Barks, Thomas Laurrie, and GP&P Racing for their generous support for the upcoming 2020 racing season. Other than his sponsors, he would like to thank his parents, Kate, his son Quinton, Chris Leone, Mike Pahl, the Susice family, and everyone else who has helped him get to where he is.

    Q&A with Ryan Plante:

Who is a driver that you look up to for inspiration?

“When I was younger, my favorite driver was Brian Stevens. I also look up to my dad who used to race.”

What is the first thing you look forward to after your feature is over? Food, a drink, etc.

“Getting the suit off and having a cold beer, that's usually about it.”

What is the car that you have had the most fun driving?

“I do really like driving my ‘63 Chevy pick up when I can.”

Do you drive on the street like you are in the race car?

“Hahah no, I can drive fast but I'm usually slowish. ”

    Favorite racing memory?

“When dad was racing the King of the Hill, it was a 50 lap race and he finished the race backwards. He never had power steering the whole race. But there's a lot more, like my first win”
