RANSOMVILLE BEGINS ROAD TO 2020 SEASON WITH DRIVER REGISTRATION

RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (January 27, 2020) - The first official event of 2020 for Ransomville Speedway was held this past Sunday as track officials hosted the annual preseason driver registration and divisional meetings at the Ransomville Fire Hall. The meetings were positive all around with both competitors and officials excited for the start of the new season, which is less than three months away.

“We were thrilled with the turnout for drivers registration,” said Jenn Martin, general manager, “the meetings were constructive, and have us excited for opening day.”

Drivers from the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks and Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks are looking forward to competing weekly at the “Big R” as well as participating in their respective series in cooperation with other area facilities. The Mini Stocks will challenge drivers from Freedom Motorsports Park in four-race series for 2020. The Street Stock division will continue to operate under the same rules package as last year, they will also do battle with drivers from Humberstone and Ohsweken Speedways in Ontario for the second annual Can-Am Thunder Stock Challenge. Five drivers registered for the Mini Stocks while seven Street Stocks filed their entries for the upcoming campaign.

Open wheeled competitors from the Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman, Investor’s Service Sportsman and Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds were equally enthusiastic.

There will be some new faces each of the open wheeled divisions. Former Mini Stock driver Brandon Close and go-kart graduate Dylan Duhow were among the six drivers to register for the Novice Sportsman. Bubby Pawlak and Mike Martin will be making the move from Novice to the regular Sportsman ranks in 2020. They joined eight other Sportsman drivers in registering. A total of 13 Modified drivers were on hand for driver registration. We know of at least one new face in the Modifieds for the upcoming season as Robbie Johnston will graduate from the Sportsman.

Any drivers or crew members that still need to purchase memberships, DIRTcar licenses or season passes can do so by contacting the Ransomville Speedway office at (716) 791-3602.

A handful of drivers took home some prizes for filing their registration for the upcoming season. Jordan Moden, Bubby Pawlak and Ryan Susice each won a new Hoosier Racing Tire. Street Stock drivers Chris Dziomba and Anthony Guthrie won $50 gas cards while Mini Stock drivers Cole Susice and Matt Hornquist won $25 gas cards.

Next up on the road to the 2020 Ransomville Speedway season is the annual mall car show at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara during the weekend of March 27-29. Entries for the 2020 Miss Ransomville contest are still being accepted by email at raceransomville@gmail.com or by messaging the Ransomville Speedway Facebook page.
