    Ransomville 2020 Kart Program News

RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (January 2, 2020) - As we enter the new year, details surrounding the Ransomville Speedway Go-Kart program for the 2020 racing season are quickly coming into focus.

The Stirling Lubricants presents Champion Racing Oil Weekly Karting Series will continue to run on Thursday nights at the “Little R” with a full lineup of divisions: Finish Line Auto Detail Sr. Heavy, Fisher’s Auto Repair Senior Lites, Fitzgibbon Contracting Junior 3, SJE Shocks Junior 2, Slack Karts Junior 1 and Just Signs & Designs Novice.

“We can’t wait for the go-kart season to start,” said Jenn Martin, general manager, “we received some excellent feedback from our teams during the off season, and used that to help make some decisions concerning the program. Now that these plans are in place we can look forward to seeing everyone at the mall car show in March.”

Burris Racing will continue to be the official Go-Kart Tire of Ransomville Speedway. Competitors will only be allowed to run Burris tires. There will be a raffle for a set of new Burris kart tires starting March 26 and running until opening day. Tickets are $5 each or drivers can receive a free raffle ticket if they fill out and pay for their 2020 season membership during the annual mall car show at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara during the weekend of March 27-29. Membership will go out in early March.

Burris has also donated ten sets tires to be given away during the season. One driver from each of the six classes will win a set of tires during the season awards banquet. Any driver that is a member and runs at least 50% of the races will be eligible to win. The other four sets will be raffled off during the season to help raise funds for the banquet.

Just Signs & Designs Novice drivers will receive a basic wrap kit from Just Designs, which consists of side panels, front number and name graphics. Racers can choose from ten different designs. Novice drivers that also compete at least five times during 2020 will get a t-shirt and a hat embroidered with their kart number at the banquet from Just Signs.

The top three finishers in SJE Shock Junior 2 points this season will receive specialty trophies from Scott Just with SJE Shock Services.

There are some rule changes for the 2020 season. All competitors must paint all weights white, and mark them with their kart’s number so they can be easily seen and identified if they fall off. Features are going back to double file lineups. There will be two attempts to start the race double file. If the race cannot be started properly double file, then it will go to a single file start.

Speedway officials would like to remind competitors that all kart numbers must be clearly visible and easy to read so they can be scored properly. Drivers that have numbers that are not bright and visible will be asked to make changes.

The full schedule for the Stirling Lubricants presents Champion Racing Oil Weekly Karting Series will be released shortly. There will be a special points race held on a Saturday. Speedway officials are in search of six sponsors to help come up with the $100 purse to be paid to each winner. Interested organizations can contact Jenn Martin at the speedway office at (716) 791-3602.

Anyone interested in volunteering to operate the lap counter on Thursday nights this season is urged to contact the speedway office.
