Friday, August
22, 2008 – A total of eighty-four cars signed in for
competition last Friday night at Ransomville Speedway.
It was the eighteenth straight even for Ransomville
Speedway despite being one of the rainiest seasons to
date. Over thirty-three drivers have visited victory
lane with more looking to add their names to that list
in the coming weeks. Ransomville will race until
September 20th.
Jon Miller of
Olcott, NY captured his first Mighty Taco Modified
feature main last Friday night. Miller took the lead at
the drop of the green and maintained it the entire
thirty laps. Chad Brachmann, Rich Vinson, Scott Kerwin,
and Pete Bicknell rounded out the top five. The points
battle tightened up even more as only ten points
separate the top three with just one week remaining.
Unofficially Pete Bicknell leads with 666 markers
followed by Todd Burley with 661 and Scott Kerwin with
656.

Steve Miller of
Burt, NY collected his first ever win aboard the
Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division. Miller took the
lead at the drop of the green and held off persistent
challenges by Steve Schumacher for the final half of the
twenty-five lap main. Miller collected the win aboard
his Blue Moon Potatoes sponsored machine followed by
Schumacher, Don Spatorico, Tony Purgarich, and Nathan
Reynolds. The points battle closed to just twenty-three
markers (unofficially) with James Michael Friesen
leading Don Spatorico into the final event next week.

Tim Raymond of
Niagara Falls, NY captured his third win of the season
aboard the Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock division. Raymond
took the lead at the drop of the green and held it the
entire distance. Ricky Washburn, Roger Israel, Jaren
Israel, and Pat Burek rounded out the top five.

Kenny Washburn of
Ransomville, NY took top honors last Friday night aboard
the first Ki-Po Chevrolet fifteen lap Streetstock main.
Washburn took the lead on lap five and maintained it the
final ten circuits. Washburn became the eighteenth
different winner for the 2008 season. Brian Martin,
Randy Zimmerman, Mike Childrose and Brandon Sherwood
rounded out the top five.



Dave Charczuk
captured the win in the Modified Vintage division, Matt
Scott in the Sportsman Vintage division, and Rob Whipple
in the Hobby Vintage division.
