Ransomville, NY – Friday, August 15,
2008 – A total of seventy-one cars signed in pitside
last Friday night to compete in the sixteenth straight
event at Ransomville Speedway. Once again mother nature
provided some tense moments on the radar as storms
formed to the North and South. But…as has also been the
norm at Ransomville for 2008, the racing prevailed and
another great night of action took place!!
Pete Bicknell captured the win aboard the
Mighty Taco Modified thirty-lap feature main event.
Bicknell took the lead away from Scott Kerwin on lap
twenty-two exiting corner number 2. Bicknell went on to
capture his fourth win of the season and took over the
points lead by 1 marker after Todd Burley suffered a
lost right sneaker after a scramble on the back stretch
of lap one. In fact, the points battle was tightened up
through the top four as less than ten points separate
them. Kerwin, Jeff McGinnis, Robbie Krull, and Rich
Vinson rounded out the top five.

The best race of the season aboard the
Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division took place last
Friday night. You had to see it to believe as it had
the fans on their feet as the field came off turn four
for the checkered. Justin Wright took the lead with just
two laps remaining and held John Panattoni and Don
Spatorico at bay to collect his first win of the season.
Panattoni and Spatorico came across the line in a photo
finish with Panattoni just edging out Spatorico by
merely inches for second. Jeff Jepson and Jipp Ortiz
rounded out the top five.

Jaren Israel of Wilson, NY took top
honors last Friday night aboard the first Ki-Po
Chevrolet Streetstock main event. Israel battled with
Billy Coleman and Ricky Washburn through lap six prior
to taking over the top spot. The trio put on a great
show for the fans. Israel took the checkered over
Washburn, Derrick Borkenhagen, Billy Coleman, and Scott
Krull. A total of fifteen cars took the green for the
first Streetstock event.

Patrick Dell captured his first Ki-Po
Chevrolet Streetstock main of the season with his
victory in the second fifteen lap main event. Dell held
off persistent challenges from Mark Loveland and Chris
Burek in the closing laps and became the seventeenth
different winner for 2008. Loveland, Burek, Brian
Lonneville, and Dave Conant rounded out the top five.
