
SHARP, CHILDROSE,
CONANT, BORKENHAGEN, GREENAWALT, and O'DONNELL CAPTURE
WINS AT RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY

Ransomville, NY –
Friday, August 08, 2008- Despite the nasty weather
forecasted for last Friday, Ransomville Speedway completed
its fifteenth show of 2008. A total of eighty-six cars
signed in to do battle amongst the three divisions slated
for competition. Sponsored by Grelak Mechanical, the annual
Sportsman Nationals took center stage.
A total of thirty-seven
cars entered the Annual Grelak Mechanical Sportsman
Nationals. In addition to offering a $1000 winning prize,
the event was also the final race in the Lucas Oil Sportsman
Shoot-out Series for 2008. Justin Sharp of St. Catharines,
Ontario took top honors aboard the Sportsman Nationals/Lucas
Oil Sportsman Shoot-out. Sharp took the lead at the drop of
the green and maintained the top spot through the entire
fifty circuits. Sharp held off persistent challenges from
Ransomville Speedway defending champion Don Spatorico. Tyler
MacPherson, Steve Miller, and Mat Williamson rounded out the
top five. The event was marred by several cautions and one
red for John Smith who flipped into the front stretch moat.
Smith was ok but his racer was severely damaged.

Mike Childrose of
Lockport, NY took top honors last Friday night aboard the
first fifteen lap Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock main.
Childrose took the lead away from Jon Richael on lap eight
and held off persistent challenges by Webb Nashwinter in the
closing laps. Nashwinter came home in second followed by
Randy Zimmerman, Scott Krull, and Wayne Close.

Dave Conant of
Lockport, NY won his third Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock main
of 2008 aboard the second Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock
fifteen lap main. Conant took the lead away from Patrick
Dell on lap seven and was never seriously challenged after
that point. Chris Burek, Dell, Jaren Israel, and Brian
Martin rounded out the top five.

Derrick Borkenhagen of
Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the third Quad Ki-Po
Chevrolet Streetstock 15. Borkenhagen took the lead away
from Tim Raymond prior to the completion of lap one and was
never challenged after that point. Scott Krull, Brian
Lonneville, Wayne Close, and Mike Childrose rounded out the
top five.

Mike Greenawalt of Niagara Falls, NY held of a hard charging
Jaren Israel to pick up his 2nd win of the year.
Roger Israel, Chris Burek, and Boots Martin rounded out the
top 5.

Jamie O'Donnell picked up the Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall
Feature over Jim Stone and Dick Wilkinson.
