Friday, July 11, 2008 – Despite
heavy morning rain showers, Ransomville Speedway completed its
tenth straight week of racing. The early morning moisture set
the stage for an awesome racing surface as a tacky and racey
speedway provided for some great side by side racing action.
Robbie Krull of Lockport, NY was declared
the winner aboard the Mighty Taco Modified thirty lap feature
main after apparent winner Jon Miller was disqualified during
post race tech. Miller had led the entire distance. Krull’s win
was the second of the season. Scott Kerwin, Chad Brachmann, Boyd
MacTavish, and Rich Vinson rounded out the top five.
Sandy Pembleton of Lewiston, NY became the
second first time winner of the night after capturing the
victory in the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman main. Pembleton
took the lead away from Steve Miller on lap thirteen and held
off persistent challenges by Steve Schumacher for the win.
Schumacher came home in second followed by Jipp Ortiz, John
Smith, and Don Spatorico. Several cautions slowed the pace in
the early going. Twenty-one cars took the initial green.
Mike Greenewalt of Niagara Falls, NY
captured his first ever Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock feature
event last Friday night. Greenewalt grabbed the lead at the drop
of the green and held it the entire fifteen circuits. Greenewalt
became the 12th different winner of 2008. Chris Burek, Kenny
Washburn, Tim Raymond, and Wayne Close rounded out the top five.
Billy Coleman of Ransomville, NY took top
honors aboard the second Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock feature
main. Coleman took the lead away from Sean Letts on the final
circuit to capture his second of the season. Jaren Israel, Boots
Martin, Alex Morris, and Gerald Poole rounded out the top five.
