BURLEY, FRIESEN,
COLEMAN, AND ISRAEL VISIT VICTORY LANE AT
RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY

Ransomville, NY – Friday, June 20, 2008 – Todd Burley of
Spencerport,
NY won his second feature of 2008 last Friday night aboard the
thirty
lap Mighty Taco Modified division. Burley inherited the lead on lap
twenty-six after leader Boyd MacTavish’s motor blew on the
backstretch.
Burley led the remaining four laps to the win. Jeff McGinnis, Rick
Hoctor, Bob Broomfield, and Sam Crogan rounded out the top five.
Hoctor enjoyed the early lead followed by MacTavish and Todd Gordon.
MacTavish took over the top spot on lap four and quickly pulled away
from the field. The race on the track was for fourth on lap twenty
as
Scott Kerwin, Pete Bicknell, and Todd Burley battled for position.
Burley emerged with the spot on lap twenty-two but MacTavish had a
full
straight away lead. Just when it appeared to be over-the caution
flew
for Tommy Flanagan who spun in turn two. This put McGinnis and
Burley
on on MacTavish’s back bumper. Burley advanced to second on lap
twenty-
three. With just five laps remaining, MacTavish’s motor went south
giving the lead and win to Burley.

James Michael Friesen of St. Catharines, Ontario became the first
repeat winner aboard the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division and
further stretched his points lead. Friesen took the lead away from
Ed
Cain on lap fourteen and then held off persistent challenges by
defending champion Don Spatorico for the win. Spatorico came home
second followed by Cain, Ricky Newton, and Steve Schumacher.
Cain led the early going which was marred by several caution
periods.
A red was needed on lap ten after Jipp Ortiz was sent flipping off
turn
one. The 11n of Ricky Newton attempted to move into the high lane-
unfortunately for Ortiz he was already there. The contact sent the 0
up
and over several times. Jipp was a-okay but the same could not be
said
for his machine
