RICHNER, COTRISS, RAYMOND AND ISRAEL VICTORIOUS AT RANSOMVILLE
SPEEDWAY

Ransomville, NY – Friday, June 13, 2008 – Despite mother natures dismal forecast, Ransomville Speedway completed their sixth week of racing last Friday night. A total of eighty cars registered to do battle amongst the three weekly divisions.
Ricky Richner of Niagara Falls, NY took top honors aboard the Mighty Taco Modified thirty lap feature main. Richner took the lead after a three wide battled with Todd Gordon and Pete Bicknell. It was a sight to be seen as contact during the three wide battle left Gordon sideways on the front stretch. Gordon made a great save losing only two positions in the process. Richner brought home the win followed by Todd
Burley, Bicknell, Jeff McGinnis, and Gordon.
Richner took a look to the inside of Gordon for the top spot at half way with Bicknell also looking for a way by. Three wide action resulted in contact between Gordon, Richner, and Bicknell. It was A GREAT SAVE by Gordon who was completely sideways on the front stretch but managed to collect it and hang onto second. Richner came away with the lead and quickly pulled away from the field. Burley advanced to second on lap nineteen as yet more three wide racing dazzled race fans. As if that wasn’t enough-Chad Brachmann did a full 360 on the backstretch of lap twenty-three and kept going without the aid of a yellow.  It truly was Friday the 13th! The final laps were ran clean and green with Richner claiming the win.


Jesse Cotriss of Akron, NY becamne the sixth different winner in the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division. Cotriss took the lead at the drop of the green and was never seriously challenged after that point. It was Cotriss’s first official win in the open wheeled division having collected the win late last season in the non-winners race. Rookie contender Ryan Susice came home in second followed by  James Friesen,
Jipp Ortiz, and Mat Williamson.
 

Tim Raymond of Niagara Falls, NY captured the win aboard the first Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock fifteen lap main. Raymond advanced from his sixth place starting position to the top spot by lap three and maintained it the remaining distance enroute to his second win of the season. Carla Duchnick, Sean Letts, Chris Burek, and Brandon Sherwood rounded out the top five.


Roger Israel of Wilson, NY won his first Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock main of the season. Israel took the lead on on lap three and was never seriously challenged after that point. Israel became the ninth different winner for 2008 in the full fender division. Kenny Washburn, Boots Martin, Pat Burek, and Scott Krull rounded out the top five. 

 

A special go-kart exhibition was held during intermission with the following kids coming home with the victories-Connor Mooradian aboard the Junior Restricted, Haley Oakes in the Junior II, Tristan Jeffery in the Junior I and Gene Gregoric in the Novice.
