BRACHMANN, SMITH,
POOLE, CHILDROSE, AND STONE VISIT VICTORY LANE AT THE BIG R

Friday, June 6, 2008 Ransomville, NY Exactly one hundred
cars filled the pit area last Friday night set to entertain the fans
whom filled the grandstands. It was finally summer as temperatures
reached 90 degrees at 3 pm allowing Ransomville to complete its
fifth week of racing action.
Chad Brachmann of Sanborn, NY captured the win aboard the thirty lap
Mighty Taco Modified feature. Brachmann piloted his Original Pizza
Logs sponsored #3 to the lead on lap one and was never seriously
challenged after that point. The front of the pack suffered some
major changes on lap one as the cars of Todd Gordon, Pete Bicknell,
Rich Vinson, Ricky Richner, and Jeff McGinnis came together in turn
two. Richner, Vinson,
and Gordon were done for the night. Brachmann inherited the lead in
this maylay and held it the remaining distance. Brachmann took the
win over Robbie Krull, Todd Burley, Scott Kerwin, and Tommy
Flannigan.

Derek
Smith of Ransomville, NY took top honors for the first time aboard
the Sportsman ranks last Friday night. Smith took the lead at the
drop of the green in the twenty-five lap Original Pizza Logs main
and held off Mike Bowman and Steve Schumacher for the win. Bowman
applied heavy pressure at the mid-way point and Schumacher in the
closing laps to no avail as it was Smith with the preferred outside
lane and the win. Schumacher came home in the second position
followed by Don Spatorico, James Michael Friesen, and Ricky Newton.

Gerald
Poole of Newfane, NY captured his first win of the season aboard the
Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock division. Poole took the lead at the
drop of the green and held off persistent challenges by Randy
Zimmerman. Poole became the seventh different winner of 2008.
Zimmerman came home second followed by Roger Israel, Jaren Israel,
and Alex Morris. The first and only caution flew on lap 13 for
Brandon Sherwood
who went off the backstretch coming to rest against the turn three
guardrail. Sherwood has been strong as of late but found his efforts
side-lined with just two laps remaining.

Mike
Childrose topped the field aboard the second fifteen lap Ki-Po
Chevrolet Streetstock main. It was a wild one to say the least as
the lead position was swapped three times in the closing laps. When
the checkered flew it was Childrose in the lead when it counted the
most. Childrose collected his first ever win and became the eighth
different winner. Chris Burek, Wayne Close, Pat Dell, and Billy
Coleman rounded
out the top five.

Jim
Stone of Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the twelve lap
Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduro Series feature main. Stone used
lapped traffic to his advantage on lap eight and took the lead away
from Eric Gunio. Stone captured his first checkered in the class
followed by Jamie ODonnell and Gunio.
