PETE BICKNELL CLAIMS
LUCAS OIL MODIFIED SHOOT-OUT; SHARP, MORRIS, AND MARTIN COLLECT WINS
AT RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY

Friday, May 23,
2008-Pete Bicknell of St. Catharines, Ontario took top honors last
Friday night aboard the fifty lap Lucas Oil Modified Shoot-out.
Bicknell took the lead away from Ricky Richner on lap thirteen and
held off persistent challenges by Richner in the late going. In
fact, as the pair took the white flag, Richner mounted a challenge
to the outside of Bicknell but to no avail as Bicknell captured his
second win of the season at the big R aboard his BRP #42 machine.
Richner finished in second followed by Chad Brachmann, Stewart
Friesen, and Scott Kerwin.

Justin Sharp captured his first ever Sportsman feature win last
Friday night. “Thanks to Ransomville Speedway for an awesome
track,” commented Sharp in victory lane. Sharp took the lead away
from early leader Dennis Giancola with three laps remaining aboard
his #8s Blue Moon Potatoes sponsored machine and held the top spot
the final laps. Giancola had led the first twenty-one circuits and
came home second followed by Sandy Pembleton, Mike Short, and Mat
Williamson.

Alex Morris of Niagara
Falls, NY took top honors aboard the first Ki-Po Chevrolet fifteen
lap streetstock main. By virtue of some dismal finishes the first
two weeks, Morris sat on the pole for the feature go. Morris jumped
out to a quick lead and was never seriously
challenged after that point. Patrick Dell, Billy Coleman, Roger
Israel, and Webb Nashwinter rounded out the top five.

Boots Martin of Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the second
fifteen lap Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock main. As was with
Morris-Martin used his pole position starting spot to his advantage
as he took the lead away from Don Rappleyea early on and held off a
late race challenge from Brandon Sherwood. Martin piloted his #00m
to his first win of the season. Sherwood came home in second
followed by Kenny Washburn, Chris Burek, and Wayne Close.
