Coleman, Brown,
Castelein, Moretti, and the Vetter Brothers
Collect Wins at
Ransomville!

Ransomville, NY – Saturday, September 22nd, 2007 – It was a
beautiful night, as Ransomville Speedway closed out it's 50th
Anniversary racing season. Fans were treated to an impressive
108 cars in five divisions with great racing.

The Street Stock
New Winner event seen Billy Coleman hold off an ever determined
Ricky Washburn to collect his 1st ever win. Billy had moved up
from the Go Kart program last year, and had experienced a season
with a lot of tough luck. Billy was not to be denied as he was
greeted in victory lane by a whole host of very happy family and
friends.
The Street Stock
open feature brought in a large contingent of cars from other tracks
to do battle with more liberal rules. Sean Letts looked like
the one to beat early winning the heat, and leading Nate Vetter and
Chris Burek by a comfortable margin. Suddenly, Letts slowed,
allowing Vetter to go by to pick up the open win. With the
open rules, Street Stocks were turning really fast times.
Burek had to go in the pits with a flat allowing Vetter to check
out. Ben Hornquist, driving his newly purchased Street Stock,
came home a great 2nd place with Roger Israel coming in the final
show spot.
Abel Castelein
passed Rob Goulding, and led the rest of the way to collect the Mini
Stock win. The field consisted of no less than 5 different
Mini Stock/Pro 4 Truck champions from the local area.
Humberstone Champion James Small came home 3rd, while Don Lessard
picked up the Pro 4 Truck bonus.

Mark Brown
finished off a great season by winning the Bobcat of Buffalo
Firehall Mini Series feature and points battle. Brown's
competition encountered problems along the way with Chris Lederhouse
visiting the wall, and Mark Gunio having a flat. Jim Stone
held on for 2nd in the race, and in the final points tally.
Jacob Wendt finished 3rd.
The 4/6 Cylinder
enduro looked like a lock for Terry Fruscione, as he led over 80
laps. On lap 97, while coming out of 4, Fruscione was turned
around, and could not recover. His one lap lead vanished,
allowing the #96 of Bill Moretti to take the win. Eugene
Washburn recovered from a spin of his own to come in 2nd.
It was a great
night for the Vetter Brothers, as Nate's brother Brian, won the 1st
Mechanics race. Brian looked like he has some great potential
as he was turning some really great laps during the whole race.
