BURLEY, SPATORICO, RADNEY, KUMM, AND ISRAEL COLLECT WINS AT RANSOMVILLE  SPEEDWAY

Ransomville, NY – Friday the 13th of July, 2007 – One hundred cars rocked the big R last Friday night. The three weekly classes of Mighty Taco Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman, and Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstocks along with the New York Modified Midgets filled the racing card and some HOT action by the American Thunder Jet Truck entertained the many fans on hand.
Todd Burley of Spencerport, NY took win number three aboard the Mighty Taco Modified division last Friday night. Burley took the lead away from the Bad Banana Rick Hoctor on lap fourteen and quickly pulled away from the field. Burley won in commanding fashion over Scott Kerwin, Ricky Richner, Jeff McGinnis, and Pete Bicknell. Kerwin and Richner put on a great show for second but it was Kerwin hanging on. The race when clean and green through the entire thirty circuits.

Don Spatorico of Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the twenty-five lap Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division. Spatorico took the lead away from Tommy Flannigan in the late going and quickly pulled away from the field. Spatorico became the first repeat winner of the division and further padded his points lead. Flannigan came home in second followed by Scott Just, Steve Schumacher, and Jipp Ortiz. Bob
Broomfield led the first half of the event prior to slipping back at mid way. Ortiz was in a back up car after mechanical woes plagued his regular Ransomville car.

Jim Radney of Honeoye Falls, NY took top honors aboard the twenty lap NY Modified Midget feature main. Radney took the lead at the drop of the green and held off persistent challenges by youngster Erick Rudolph. Rudolph took over the top spot briefly on lap eight but Radney regained the top spot a half lap later. Radney led the remaining laps and collected the win. Rudolph, Nick Cooper, Paul Hebeck, and Joe Zahno rounded out the top five. A total of twenty-four NY Modified Midgets visited the big R for the first of two appearances in 2007.

Stewart Kumm became the 12th different winner aboard the first Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstock division. Kumm took the lead away from Dave Conant on a lap nine restart and held off persistent challenges by points leader Kirk Tuttle in the closing laps. Tuttle came home second followed by Carla Duchnick, Ryan Susice, and Wayne
Close.

Jaren Israel of Wilson, NY captured his third win of the season aboard the Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstock division. Israel inherited the lead on lap two and quickly pulled away from the field. Israel enjoyed a full straight away advantage at the half way point and maintained the top spot through the final laps. Brandon Sherwood, Chris Burek, Dan Baughman, and Sean Letts rounded out the top five.
