ROBBIE KRULL, JEFF McGINNIS, ROGER ISRAEL, AND JEFF SCHULZE CAPTURE RANSOMVILLE CHECKEREDS

Jeff McGinnis #20

Ransomville, NY...Friday, July 2nd 2004…A capacity crowd was on hand last Friday night for what was definitely the nicest race evening of the 2004 season. Sponsored by Mark Cerrone, Inc. and Good Guys Transmissions, the racing action was hot and heavy in the three divisions-Mighty Taco Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs/Sunoco Race Fuels Mr. DIRT Sportsman, and Previtys Motor Cars Streetstocks.

Robbie Krull of Lockport, NY took top honors in the Mighty Taco 358 Modified thirty lap feature event. Krull took control early on and led the entire distance enroute to his first win of the season at Ransomville.
Mark Golding led the field down to the green taking the lead followed by Robbie Krull, Ricky Richner, Mark Sylvies, and Pete Bicknell. Krull took the lead on lap three with Richner and Bicknell in tow. Bicknell advanced to second on lap five while Brian Stevens and Chad Brachmann broke into the top five. Johnson challenged Brachmann on the lowside of lap ten taking the position on lap eleven. Stevens used an outside move in turn three to take over the third position from Richner. Points leader Todd Burley was running in the eighth position at the half-way point.
Johnson emerged into fourth over Richner on lap sixteen as Bicknell appeared to be reeling in Krull for the top spot.  The event went clean and green with Krull setting a fast pace and taking his first win of the season at Ransomville. Bicknell, Johnson, Stevens, and Brachmann rounded out the top five.
Jeff McGinnis captured his third win of the season aboard the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division last Friday night. McGinnis used an inside pass on Scott George with two laps remaining to take over the top spot in the Sunoco Race Fuels Mr. DIRT Sportsman Series event.
Ransomville regulars Kevin Wills and George shared the front row for the fifty lap Original Pizza Logs Sportsman main event with George taking control early on. Dean Ferri made a move to the inside of Wills for second dropping Wills to third. Rob Ledingham and Bill Willard rounded out the top five. Contact back in the field left Tony Purgarich, Gary Walters, and Dick Park side-lined in turn one. George chose the outside lane for the restart putting Ferri alongside on the bottom. The two ran side by side through lap three with George emerging in the lead. Ferri, Wills, Willard, and Ledingham rounded out the top five. Wills pulled to the lowside of Ferri challenging for the second spot as George extended his lead. George and Wills were in heavy lapped traffic by lap thirteen. George took a real chance as he threaded the needle between two lapped cars in turn three of lap fourteen. George continued to set a blistering pace as he lapped half the field by the mid-way point.
Purgarich's tough night continued as he slowed in turn three bringing out the second caution. George had the benefit of three lapped cars between himself and second place runner Wills. McGinnis took over the third position from Series point leader Ferri. Jay Mallory challenged Ferri for the fourth position taking the spot. A scarry moment for all -mainly John Hagerman-as he came to a stop in turn two. Great driving by all drivers as they somehow missed him. George led the field back to green with Wills and McGinnis a tight second and third. McGinnis moved in to challenge Wills for second on lap thirty-three with Wills hanging on. Contact between Zack and Smoker left Smoker off the turn one embankment done for the night. George led the field back to green with McGinnis in tow. McGinnis immediately went to work on the inside pulling alongside on lap forty-seven. McGinnis continued to challenge on the bottom taking the lead one lap later and the eventual win. George,  Wills, Ledingham, and Dean Ferri rounded out the top five.

Roger Israel of Wilson, NY captured the win aboard the first Previtys Motor Cars twenty lap Streetstock main event. Israel took the lead early on and maintained the top spot through the final laps to pick up his third of the season.
Eric Ben took the early lead followed by Jaren Israel, Roger Israel, Lucas Jonathon, and Ricky Washburn. Kenny Brant lost the handle in turn two bringing out the first caution on lap two. Ben chose the outside lane for the restart however it was Roger Israel taking over the top spot. Ben, Jonathon, Jaren Israel, and Washburn rounded out the top five. Washburn continued his charge to the front as he took over the second position on lap seven. Derek Boyle spun in turn four bringing out the second caution of the event. Roger continued to show the way with Washburn challenging on the inside. At the checkered it was Roger Israel in for the win followed by Washburn, Rick Gorhon, Jaren Israel, and Ben.

Jeff Schulze of Ransomville, NY became the fifteenth different winner aboard the Previtys Motor Cars Streetstock ranks last Friday night. Schulze took the top spot away from Dave Stolzenberg on lap seventeen and maintained the point position through the final three laps.
Stolzenberg led the field down to complete lap one as Dave Jowdy and John Schultz became hooked on the front stretch. The pair went into turn two still hooked together-as they separated, contact sent Jowdy up and over in turn two. Jowdy emerged okay but his racer was damaged substantially. On the restart Stolzenberg chose the outside lane maintaining the top spot over Dietz, Steve Shoop, Dave Nichols, and Digger Lester. Shoop, Lester, and Nichols made their way by Dietz as Stolzenberg pulled away in the lead.  Schulze who recently returned to action at the big R after a few years absence broke into the top five on lap five. Nichols continued to suffer mechanical problems as he slowed off turn two and headed pitside. A caution on lap eight for debris slowed the field. Stolzenberg continued to show the way on the restart followed closely by Shoop and Schulze. Lester, Dan Baughman, Brian Sparks, Schultz, Dietz, and Wayne Close rounded out the top ten. Schulze took over the runner up spot on lap eleven and quickly reeled in Stolzenberg up front. Shoop slowed on the back stretch on lap twelve with mechanical problems. Schulze took a look to the inside of Stolzenberg on lap fifteen. The pair came off the corner side by side with Stolzenberg ahead at the line. They continued to run side by side with Schulze emerging in the lead on lap seventeen. Schulze held the top spot the remaining laps enroute to his first win of the season. Stolzenberg, Lester, Baughman, and Wayne Close rounded out the top five.
