Ransomville, NY - Thursdsay, August 12th, 2010 - What a banner year it has been for the Karting club at Ransomville Speedway. Taking place each Thursday since early May - the karts have averaged 63 a week with last nights total reaching 67 entries. The karts are a stepping stone for the big track - many racers advance from the Little R to the big R. With the talent gracing the kart classes - its safe to say the Stock Car's future looks very bright.
In the Clone class the win went to Cori Webber. Cori took the lead away from Brian Knox on lap nine and held off persistent challenges by Knox in the remaining laps. Knox held on for second followed by Taylor Sears, Jeff Anstett, Bailey Hudson, Mindy Kramp, and John Bonesky.
The Stock Medium division was 16 strong as they took the green in the 20 lap affair. Steve Sweet and Mike Seefeldt came into the night tied for the points lead. With only one winner possible - the points were going to change by the nights end. Sweet led the early race but it was Seefeldt with the stronger machine as he took over the top spot on lap eleven and held it the remaining laps. Brandon Zavarella made his way to second followed by Jonathon Reid, Sweet, James Gorcheck, George Curtis, Tim Kott, Shawn Jeffery (Happy 40th Birthday Shawn!!!!!), Kevin Daunce, Andy Jankowiak, Seana Case, Austin Hauser, Cole Daubney, and Tim Swatsworth.
Brad Duhow was declared the winner abaord the Junior Restricted class after contact on the final turn resulted in one racer being penalized for rough driving. It was Duhow's third win of the season. Brian Monahan was credited for second followed by Casey Smalley, RJ Littlefield, Matthew Veihdeffer, Senek, Cody Kott, Joshua Baker, and John Conklin.
Cam Stefanski picked up win number 7 on the season aboard the Junior I ranks. Stefanski led all fifteen laps and took the win over Austin Susice, David Littlefield, Chase Collins, Tristan Jeffery, Alyssa Mullen, Marc Eberz, PJ Koestler, Al Kramp, Steve Lewis, Trent Curtis, Ryan Coppins, Megan Cleveley, and Morgan Hoffman.
Katy Knoll took the win aboard the Junior I division and regained the points lead. Knoll led all fifteen laps and held off a hard charging Matthew Wollaber. Wollaber finished in second followed by Eric Veihdeffer, Jeff Chapman, Gene Gregoric, Noah Walker, Nicholas Tarnowski, Stephen Imerese, Andrew Srock, and Selena Smith.
In the Twin Novice ten lap mains - the wins went to Kyle Phillips and Shelby Smith. Phillips led all ten laps aboard the first go-round taking his sixth of the season. Based on the rules limiting Novice competitors to six wins in a season - Phillips will join the Junior I class next week. Michael Carmer, Dylan Duhow, and Anthony Wagner. In the second Novice feature - Smith took the win aboard her #31s. It was Smith's second win of the season. Olivia Tober, Tyler Derubius, Kevin Marsh, and Kiersten Farina rounded out the field.
