Ransomville, NY Saturday, September 18, 2010 A total of ninety-five cars entered the 19th annual Investors Services King of the Hill. On the line was a $2,000 to WIN 100 lap Sportsman main and a $1,000 to WIN 100 lap Streetstock main along with a 4 Banger/Firehall Challenge and a 4/6 Cylinder Enduro.
Don Spatorico of Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the first annual King of the Hill Sportsman 100. After swapping the lead with Greg Panunte late in the race, Spatorico took control on lap eighty-three and never looked back. Spatorico took his GB Contracting sponsored #5 to victory lane much to the joy of his family and crew.
Spatorico led the early going prior to giving up the point position to Panunte on lap seventy-three. Just when it appeared as though Panunte may have the better car he drifted high on lap eighty-three giving Spatorico a great opportunity. Spats said thank you very much took back the lead and never looked back. Panunte held on for second followed by James Henry, Jesse Cotriss, and Justin Wright. The cream certainly rose to the top of this highly coveted event.
The event took a few laps to get going as two early cautions slowed the pace. Nate Reynolds suffered mechanical issues at the drop of the green. Being on the front row this proved to be a problem for the remaining cars with several being caught up in the maylay. A few laps later - Kevin Wills gave everyone a cause for pause after a fuel line let go aboard his Doug Coons #51. The yellow and then red was displayed in order to get Wills safely to the fire personnel. Wills was able to return after a quick duck pitisde. Under this red - Ryan Susice went pitside along with Dave Marcucelli.
Jaren Israel of Wilson, NY took top honors aboard the King of the Hill 100 lap Streetstock main. The win capped off a stellar season in which Israel won a total of six main events. Israel took the win over Chris Burek and Mark Loveland.
By virtue of the re-draw trackside, Israel drew the pole position and quickly established himself as the car to beat. While Israel was in command Pat Dell, Loveland, and Burek ran nose to tail hot on the back bumper of the #10 of Israel. After the lap 51 break Israel was able to put some distance between himself and the remainder of the field prior to another caution slowing the pace on lap seventy-three. On this restart Loveland kept himself glued to the back bumper of the Israel machine. A three car battle ensued with twenty laps remaining which found Burek advancing to the runner up position.
With just ten laps remaining the top three ran nose to tail a half a straight away over Jake Stefanski and Brandon Sherwood. With the white flag flying Burek made contact with the back bumper of the Israel machine. Israel was able to maintain control although he fished tailed across the line for the win.
A total of thirty Streetstocks took the intial green with Israel in front. The action was hot and heavy through the field as two and three wide action kept fans on the edge of their seats. Dell, Loveland, and Burek batted tooth and nail for the runner up position while also trying to keep Israel in sight. Dells great run came to a premature end on lap seventy-five as he headed pitside with apparent mechanical issues.

Steve Matson of Ransomville, NY captured his second win of the 2010 season aboard the 4 Cylinder Ranks. This win came aboard a fifteen lap Gippsters Collision 4 Banger/Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduro Challenge. Matson took the lead away from Zack Sam early on and held off Marika Morris for the win. Morris backed up her win from the night before with a fine second place finish. Jamie Woods, Sam, and Eugene Washburn rounded out the top five.
Jeff York won the 4/6 Cylinder Enduro.
