8 Cylinders.

David
Reese of Glenwood, NY took top honors aboard the fifty
–lap 4 Cylinder main event. Reese was in the right
place at the right time as Andy Jankowiak’s #29 entry
came to rest in turn one on lap forty-two after leading
the prior forty circuits. Reese collected the $500 prize
followed by Joe Priosko and Matt Hall.
Pole
sitter Donald Palmer led the field of fifty- three
starters through the first circuit but it was Reese
taking the point position on lap 2. Western New York
notable Andy Jandowiak made his way to the lead position
on lap 4 however was side-lined on lap eight after he
made contact with the turn one guardrail. Jankowiak had
built up a good lead and as a result- did not lose the
top spot.
Jankowiak continued to show the quick way around the ˝
mile aboard his #29 machine. Jankowiak led the field
through the mid-way point – lapping his teammate Matt
Jurek in the process. Jankowiak lapped the entire field
by lap twenty-seven followed by early leader Reese. Dan

Bill Suitor. At the checkered it was Reese followed by
Priosko and Hall.

Alex
Morris of Niagara Falls, NY captured the win aboard the
fifty lap 6 Cylinder main event. Morris is no stranger
to victory lane at the big R having won several feature
event in the Streetstock ranks. Morris emerged a very
happy man in victory lane doing the roof dance in
celebration.
A total
of sixty-five of seventy-two registrants took the green
aboard the 6 Cylinder main. Morris led the early going
aboard his #12 entry followed by Robert Winters and Stu
Sheppard. Morris and Winters put on a great show for the
fans as they swapped the top spot several times. Morris
secured the point position followed by Tyler Haniszewski
and Winters. Haniszewski captured the lead position on
lap twenty putting Morris back to second. James Michael
Friesen advanced to third aboard his #59 machine.
Just
when it appeared as though Haniszewski would sail to the
win – his left front tire went flat. Would this be
enough for Morris to close in and re-gain the lead?
Tyler continued to lead while Morris closed the gap with
ten circuits to go. Morris reeled in Haniszewski on lap
forty – taking over the top spot. Friesen ran third
while Winters showed in the fourth position and Stu
Sheppard in fifth.
At the
checkered it was Morris taking the win over Friesen and
Chris Cotriss.
Some
thirty-seven cars took the green aboard the 8 Cylinder
fifty lap main event – a total of forty-two had
registered. Tom Whitte took the initial lead while Ryan
Susice made his way to second. Susice took over the lead
position but only briefly as he got stuck in turn two. A
red flag was needed to clear a lane. Susice led the
field through the fifth circuit followed by Ben Hodge
and James Sikorski. James Haniszewski took over the
third position while Susice ran away from the field
aboard his #10 Cadillac entry. A flat right front tire
on the Susice machine allowed Haniszewski to close in
and take the top spot.
Susice
and Haniszewski swapped the top spot a few times and
continued to run in a freight train up front. Jesse
Cotriss emerged in third while Sikorski dropped back to
fourth. Susice made contact with the back end of
Haniszewski resulting in another flat tire on the #10
machine thus ending his day. Cotriss was making a run on
the leader but over heating problems ended his day on
lap thirty-five.
With
fifteen laps remaining – Haniszewski held a full lap on
the entire field. Just when it appeared as though the
winner had been decided – Haniszewski lost power on the
front stretch. Sherwood inherited the point position
followed by Jason Eck and Pat O’Keefe. O’Keefe appeared
to be the quickest on the track as he reeled in the top
two. O’Keefe took over second and quickly set his sights
on Sherwood with just six laps remaining. O’Keefe was
within five car lengths with four laps remaining –
Sherwood sensing the pressure threw it in hard in turn
three resulting in contact with the guardrail. Sherwood
barely held on to the lead with O’Keefe on his bumper.
Sherwood held on to the lead and took the checkered
followed by O’Keefe and Eck.
