KRULL, SUSICE, ISRAEL, GREENAWALT, AND
O'DONNELL POST FAST TIMES AT RANSOMVILLE FRIDAY NIGHT
(Alex and Helen Bruce Photos)
Ransomville, NY - Friday, April 24th - A
record setting ninety-four cars signed in pitside for the annual
Test, Tune, and Time at Ransomville Speedway last Friday
night. The weather couldn't have been better in Western New York
as temperatures in the 70's greeted drivers and fans for the
start of the 2009 season.

Robbie Krull of Lockport, NY topped the twenty-four car
strong Mighty Taco Modified field with a time of 17.50 during
the annual Test, Tune, and Time. Krull was the eighth driver to
take time, knocking off defending champion Pete Bicknell to earn
opening nights pole position. In 2008-Krull turned many heads
picking up a second place finish in the Advance Auto Parts Big
Block Series event over the fourth of July weekend. Krull did
the trick once again with his pole setting pace last Friday.
Bicknell held on for the outside front row with a time of
17.60.

Ryan Susice of Ransomville, NY set fast time posting 18.11
in the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman ranks last Friday night.
Leading a field of twenty-four competitors, Susice needed just
one lap to get the trick done as disaster struck on his second
lap resulting in Susice making contact with the turn four
guardrail. Susice was ok but the same couldn't be said for his
racer. Susice will grace the pole position for the opening
nights twenty-five lap main during the 52nd season opener slated
for Friday, May 1st. Justin Wright of Piffard, NY earned the
outside pole position with a time of 18.28.

Leading Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock feature winner from
2008, Jaren Israel, topped time trials with a 21.390. As
always-Israel's machine was top notch as he lead the field of
twenty-one strong. Israel earned the pole position in the first
twin fifteen lap main for opening night while Mike Greenawalt of
Niagara Falls, NY took home the pole position for the second
twin fifteen lap main. Greenawalt's time of 21.990 lead Ricky
Washburn and Scott Krull both of whom earned the outside front
row.

2007 Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduro Champion Jamie
O'Donnell blistered the field on Friday night with a time of
23.18. Fellow Wilson Firehall competitor Mark Brown earned the
outside pole posiiton with a time of 23.83.
In addition to the four opening nights
divisions-several other drivers participated in practice night
including a pair of micro sprints, a few ProStocks and several
of the new Flexcare 4 Banger drivers.
