MOTHER NATURE CLAIMS VICTORY AT RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY

Ransomville, NY - Friday, May 1st, 2009 - Despite one hundred and four cars in the pits and a great fan base, Mother Nature claimed the win at Ransomville Speedway during last Friday's 52nd season opener. Just two races shy of having all qualifying done, the rain showers came down in abundance forcing officials to cancel the racing program. All rain checks will be honored on Friday, May 8th for a full card of Mighty Taco Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman, Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstocks, and Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduro Series plus a Backwards race.The program will start from the beginning with all qualifying events being re-do-done
     Prior to the skies raining on our parade - the qualifying heats were in for the Enduro, Streetstocks, and Sportsman with the first one in the books in the Modifieds. Claiming wins were;  Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduros - Jim Stone and Ryan Stephenson, Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstocks - Roger Israel, Don Rappleyea Jr., and Dave Conant, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman - Derek Smith, Don Spatorico, and Jipp Ortiz, Mighty Taco Modifieds - Todd Burley.  Total cars for each division were thirty-four for the ss, twenty-four for the sportsman, twenty-seven in the modifieds, and nineteen in the Enduro.  A great start to the 2009 season!
     As the month of May gets into full swing, two special events grace the big R's schedule. The first one falls on Friday, May 22nd when National Maintenance Contracting Corporation presents the Lucas Oil 50 Lap Shoot-Out for the Modifieds. A complete program of Original Pizza Logs Sportsman, Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstocks, the Flexcare 4 Bangers and a gigantic Fireworks display by Young Explosives fills the night. On Friday, May 29th - the Sportsman and Streetstocks will take center stage with a 50 lap special in each class presented by Investors Services. Mighty Taco Modifieds and Micro-Sprints fill the racing card.
