Ransomville, NY.........It was without a doubt the
nicest night of the season last Friday as L.O.E. Trailers
presented a full card of racing. Danny Johnson of Rochester,
NY topped the Mighty Taco Modified field and also took over
the points lead with one week remaining. Johnson took the lead
early on and held off defending track champion Pete Bicknell
at the checkered.
Pete Cosco led the early going with Jason Boyle in second.
Boyle challenged Cosco for the lead on lap four and took over
the position with Johnson right there in third. Boyle's lead
was short lived however as Cosco reclaimed the number one
position one lap later. Johnson also passed Boyle for second
and moved in on Cosco for the lead. Coming off turn four on
lap eight it was Johnson claiming the to spot. After starting
in position twelve, Bicknell moved in the runner up position.
The top two in points were now running one-two on the speedway
as more than the nights win was on the line. Todd Gordon lost
the handle in turn one and brought out the first caution.
Danny Johnson chose the outside lane for the restart putting
Bicknell alongside. Johnson maintained the top spot with
Bicknell running a tight second. Cosco, Boyle, and Rich Vinson
rounded out the top five. The green was short lived as yet
another yellow came out. Johnson chose the inside lane this
time and was able to hold onto the lead as the bottom appeared
to be the lane of choice. Bicknell, Scott Wood, Robbie Krull,
and Stewart Friesen rounded out the top five at half-way. The
race continued to go clean and green with Johnson showing the
way. As the white flag flew, Friesen began to smoke heavily as
he lost his breaks. Contact between Wood and Friesen sent Wood
around in turn one. The caution/checkered flew with Johnson in
for the win over Bicknell, Krull, Friesen, and Vinson.

Scott George of Wilson, NY took top honors aboard the Original
Pizza Logs Sportsman main event for the fourth time in 2003.
George piloted his Original Pizza Logs entry into the top spot
on lap eighteen and led the remaining laps.
John Smith and Pat McCoy led the field to the green flag with
McCoy taking the early lead. Smith, Mark Potter, Sean Kott,
and Tony Purgarich rounded out the top five. Potter was on the
move early as he took over the runner up position and set his
sights on McCoy. Kyle Inman and Dave Just came together in
turn one-which brought out the first yellow flag. McCoy set
the pace on the restart but it was Potter on the move as he
took over the top spot. Scott George, Kevin Wills, and Jeff
McGinnis moved into the top five but it was Potter ahead by
over a half a straight-away. George challenged McCoy on the
lowside for second as McGinnis moved in to make it a three-way
battle. George was able to take over the runner up spot with
McGinnis in tow. Scott Kerwin joined the fray having come from
the last starting position. Potter's lead was slowly dwindling
as both George and McGinnis closed the margin in a hurry.
George challenged Potter on the highside of turn four and took
over the lead on lap eighteen. George was able to hold onto
the top spot through the final circuits enroute to the win.
McGinnis, Kerwin, Potter, and McCoy rounded out the top five.
Steve Miller of Burt, NY won his second Bobcat of Buffalo
ProStock main of the season. Miller took the lead away from
Mike Martin on lap fifteen and led the remaining laps.

eight as Zimmerman slipped high up front allowing DeVos by for
second. Mike Williams lost the handle coming off turn four on
lap ten bringing out the first caution. Lap twelve found the
first caution fly as Steve Lewis and Tom Greene came together.
Steve Miller was able to take the top spot on lap fifteen and
led the remaining distance enroute to his second win of the
season. DeVos, Zimmerman, Martin, and Pete Stefanski rounded
out the top five.

Rick Gorhan of Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the
first Clarks Burgerhouse Streetstock main event. Gorhan took
the lead at the drop of the green and led the entire fifteen
laps enroute to his first win of the season.
Gorhan led at the drop of the green followed by Steve Shoop.
It was yellow fever early on as Dave Stolzenburg came to rest
in the front stretch moat on lap two and Jaren Israel spun off
the backstretch on lap four. Gorhan led the way on the restart
but it was Shoop taking over the top spot. It was short lived
however as Gorhan regained the lead on a lap six restart.
Baughman followed through for second while Rickard also
challenged Shoop for position. Roger Israel rounded out the
top five at half-way. The top two pulled away from the field
as they battled nose to tail. Shoop lost the handle in turn
two but was able to continue on. The remaining laps went clean
and green with Gorhan taking his first win of the season.
Baughman, Israel, Rickard, and Schultz rounded out the top
five.

the early laps followed closely by Nashwinter, Wayne Close,
Morris, and Digger Lester. Sparks slipped high in turn two
ending up off the backstretch and into the pit area.
Nashwinter, Close, Morris, and Lester pulled away from the
remainder of the field as the event continued under green flag
conditions. Close challenged Nashwinter for the top spot but
had his hands full of Morris. Morris took over second and
pulled in on Nashwinter. Morris was able to make the pass and
capture his sixth win of the season. Nashwinter, Close,
Lester, and Dave Nichols rounded out the top five.
